About Laura
Laura Lawson has been painting since she was 5 and as a teen, she dreamed of becoming a portrait artist. She has always felt drawn to oil painting brushstroke texture and the timeless beauty of oil paintings.
Laura’s art has sold in galleries, through commission work, and even collected internationally. She is inspired by scenes from everyday life and loves to express the beauty of seemingly ordinary things in her
paintings.
Laura lives in Houston. She teaches oil painting regularly and likes to connect with other artists in her community. She uses her affectionate family nickname of Lala as the signature in her paintings.
Her constant companions in her studio are her dogs, Chuy, Pancho and Ruby.
